How Odoo pricing works in the UAE
Odoo's total cost has four parts, and only one of them is paid to Odoo itself.
1. Licences (paid to Odoo SA)
Odoo Enterprise is priced per user, per month, billed annually. Licences start from USD 13.50/user/month and include all apps — accounting, CRM, inventory, HR, manufacturing, e-commerce — on Odoo Online hosting. The Custom plan (required for Odoo.sh, on-premise hosting, multi-company setups and Odoo Studio) is priced higher per user. As a Gold Partner, Oakland procures licences on your behalf and passes through partner pricing.
2. Implementation (paid to your partner — this is the number that varies 10x)
Configuration, data migration, UAE VAT and corporate-tax setup, training and go-live. This is where quotes in the UAE market range from AED 15,000 to AED 500,000+ for the same scope. Our fixed-price packages are above — the quote is the invoice.
3. Hosting
Odoo Online is included in the Standard licence. Odoo.sh — Odoo's PaaS, needed for custom code and our default recommendation when custom development is on the table — starts around AED 250–700/month depending on workers and storage. Private cloud (e.g., AWS me-central-1 in the UAE) typically runs AED 800–2,500/month managed. We're hosting-agnostic: we recommend what fits your scope, not what pads the invoice.
4. Ongoing support
Budget 10–15% of the implementation fee per year, or a fixed monthly support retainer. Odoo version upgrades land every October; an annual budget for the upgrade cycle avoids surprises. Payment is by installments or milestones — agreed before kickoff.
One thing that does not cost extra in the UAE: VAT compliance. FTA-compliant VAT returns, corporate-tax fields and WPS payroll files are configuration, not customization — any partner charging "VAT module development" is reselling configuration as code.
